DESCALING NESPRESSO

Even the best Nespresso machines cannot avoid it, eventually you will have to descale them. We will tell you two ways in which you can safely descale your Nespresso machine.

DESCALING NESPRESSO WITH CITRIC ACID, VINEGAR OR NESPRESSO DESCALING MAKER

The first way to make your Nespresso limescale-free is with citric acid, vinegar or the original Nespresso descaler. We explain step by step how you can use these remedies to get your Nespresso sparkling clean again.

STEP 1: HEAT UP NESPRESSO

Fortunately, you don't have to do much to descale your Nespresso, the machine takes care of it itself. You start the descaling process by heating up the device. Press the on/off button and wait until the lights stop flashing.

STEP 2: REMOVE USED CUPS AND EMPTY DRIP TRAY

Make sure you remove the used cup from the device. Then empty the drip tray into your sink. Place an empty container of approximately 1 liter under the spout. Fill the water tank and mix it with the descaling agent of your choice.

STEP 3: DESCALING THE MACHINE

Now that the preparations have been made, you can start descaling. Press both buttons on the front or top of your device for about 4 seconds. When both buttons flash you know you are in the right place. Then press the lungo button to start the descaling process.

STEP 4: EMPTY THE BOWL

When you see that the water tank is empty, you can refill it with water and the chosen descaling agent. Make sure you empty the bowl you placed under the spout first. Then press the lungo button again so that the descaling process starts again.

STEP 5: CLEANING THE RESERVOIR

You have just successfully descaled your Nespresso, but unfortunately that is not the end of the matter. You now have to clean the machine. In other words: make sure that all the used descaling agent is no longer present in the machine. Clean the reservoir with tap water.

STEP 6: FILL RESERVOIR WITH TAP WATER

We're almost there, just 2 more steps. Now fill your reservoir with only tap water and press the lungo button a third time. The machine will now be flushed from the inside so that the taste of the descaling agent is no longer present. To ensure that you do not have to descale again during your next lungo, exit the menu by pressing both buttons again for 4 seconds. You have now successfully exited the descaling menu.

STEP 7: RUN DEVICE

Last one: run your machine a few more times with clean water by making a few cups of lungo (without placing a cup of course). Now you are ready for another cup of coffee. Please note: your Nespresso will be clean for a while, but eventually you will have to use the same products again in a few months.
